We’ve never been big mouthwash users. Although I love the idea of fresh minty breath, I’m not a fan of “the burn” that comes from traditional mouthwash.

We recently had the opportunity to try CloSYS Oral Rinse, an alcohol-free mouthwash that kills 99% of harmful bacteria and balances the pH in your mouth.

CloSYS comes unflavored, and I was a little bit nervous about whether I would like the taste, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it truly didn’t have any flavor!

The following post is from Selena of 1momsmission: Is it just me, or does the cold and wet season make it really hard to feel productive? We’ve got things to do and no energy. What gives? Although some areas of the country are experiencing an early spring, winter may still be lingering for others. Everything [...]

Last week, I started coughing on Tuesday night and woke up with what I think was bronchitis on Wednesday morning. I haven’t had bronchitis since I was little, and I turned into a bit of a whiny baby, I’m afraid. I knew I didn’t want to endure it for any longer than necessary, so I [...]

Last week I shared a bit about our journey toward using natural and herbal remedies. Today, I wanted to share some specifics about the remedies we’ve started using. My original intention was to be very systematic about it and first focus on preventatives and then cold & flu and then first aid, etc. But realistically, [...]

I’ve said this before, but I’m constantly in awe of how God created so many herbs and plants that really meet our body’s needs. Things like seasonal foods that meet our nutritional needs (such as oranges and squash in the winter with their abundance of vitamin C) and herbs and spices that strengthen our immune [...]

The following post is from Katie of Kitchen Stewardship: “I don’t care if you stand on your head to push as long as baby is doing okay.” It seemed like every time I saw my new OB-GYN, he reassured me that I could have the birth I wanted (unless there was a medical problem) with [...]

The Health Benefits of Lemon Water

Although I started drinking water almost exclusively several years ago, I’ve avoided lemon water for most of that time. I just never understood the appeal, and I would even ask waiters to “hold the lemon” when ordering water at restaurants (unless my girls were with me, in which case I would ask for extra lemon [...]

9 Ideas for Using Herbs in the Kitchen and Beyond

I am fascinated by the medicinal use of herbs — both as prevention and treatment — as well as the usefulness of them for a variety of everyday things, such as the sugar scrub (#2 below). As I mentioned last month, I’m really just starting to learn about herbs and how they can be used, [...]

The following post is from Emily of Live Renewed: Living in Northern Indiana, and just beginning to come out of a cold and wet spring, I am more than ready for the bounty of fresh produce that will soon be overflowing the stands at our Farmer’s Market.  But, it’s not quite our time… yet. And [...]
