We’ve been talking about crafts from recycled materials over the past few weeks, and the list wouldn’t be complete without including recycled newspaper crafts. I have to say that the handspun recycled newspaper yarn has to be the coolest project on the list, but there’s something for everyone, no matter how much time or skill you have!

I like the flavor, can’t stand the seeds. Is there any way to get around that other than drinking the juice?

Love pomegranate! Throw half a fruit’s worth in chocolate chip cookies – they turn out very soft but yummy!

This is such a thought provoking post Mandi. So many of us are on overload because we don’t take time to think about *why* we are doing something. Is it *really* what we want to do?
I think we CAN make time for those most important things!

I am okay with saying no to a lot of things now even though I know a lot of people think that selfish. At our previous church (switched after we moved), which was a small church, hubby and I had a huge load (strange because you wouldn’t think we’d make up the bulk of church leadership in our early 20s, and what we really needed was some mentoring and fellowship, instead of serving serving and more serving) and it caused some burn out. Between the 2 of us, we were involved in leading worship, leading youth group, Christian Ed dept, VBS director, etc. Now with 2 kids of our own and at a new church, we wanted to make own relationship with the Lord a priority and our family as well. It didn’t make sense to minister to others when we weren’t even spending time with the Lord. Anyhow, I’m a little long winded here, and just wanted to say that it is hard when society makes you seem lazy if you’re not busy busy busy and involved in every event. And it’s tough because our friends’ kids are participating in a million activities, and it makes me feel like our kids are missing out when I don’t spend money to sign my baby up for music classes. For me, I don’t think I put myself as a priority. My hubby works hard and I don’t want him to have to deal with other home tasks, etc when he comes home so I do it all myself. I probably shouldn’t do that. Even though we don’t have a TV, technology is a big time waster…checking every few minutes to see if anyone responded to an email or comment. =p I need to prioritize more to make everything more balanced I guess.

I’m stuck in a huge city, with everyone running in opposite directions and still it seems, I too, have no one to talk to…my blog has helped me declutter my mind but hasn’t given me much communication with others, maybe because it’s not even a year since I started blogging…but it sure is nice to see the numbers that show that people do take a peek into my world through my blog, THAT WAY I KNOW SOMEONE IS LISTENING…big hug to you in your mountain! My Web address: http://creativefamilyfun
Creative Family Fun is about crafts, games, activities, education aimed at parents of preschool-aged and younger children. My goal is to expand and yes, make money. I want to inspire parents to play with their kids and that it doesn’t take a lot of money or time to do that. I also want to have fun while I do this and have an outlet for my love of writing.
